Generations run from the earliest known ancestors at the top down to the present. Spouses are joined by a gold double line with a ⚭ ring (marked 1st / 2nd where someone married twice); children drop from that marriage and share a sibling bracket. Spouses who married into the family have a dashed card and a “married in” tag; where a parent's spouse is not known, an “Unknown spouse” card stands in. Use the buttons to highlight the Bell, Rogers, McNair or Chatham line, or the families that married in (Cordery, Vann, Phinazee, Allen). Some parent–child links rest on user-built trees and are labeled likely on each person's page.
